  
 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid in Knoxville: How e-POWER Works
The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid now has official pricing, and it reaches dealers in fall 2026. It's the first Nissan in the U.S. with e-POWER, a hybrid system where the gas engine never drives the wheels. Two electric motors handle all of the driving, and that changes how the Rogue feels from the first time you press the accelerator.
How Is the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Different From Other Hybrids?
In most hybrids, the gas engine and an electric motor share the work. Depending on speed and load, either one, or both, can be turning the wheels.
The Rogue Hybrid splits the jobs completely. A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder runs a generator and nothing else. That generator feeds a battery, and the battery powers two electric motors, one at each axle. There's no transmission, because electric motors don't need one.

Nissan has been selling e-POWER since 2016, with nearly 2 million vehicles sold in 68 countries. The Rogue Hybrid uses the third generation of the system.
What Does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid Feel Like to Drive?
Electric motors make their full torque the moment you ask for it. There's no transmission to shift, so the Rogue Hybrid pulls away from a stop smoothly and right away. Combined output is 225 horsepower, and the front motor alone makes more torque than the gas engine does.
Each axle has its own motor, so all-wheel drive is standard on every grade. The system keeps adjusting how much power goes to the front and rear as you drive.
The cabin also stays quiet. The gas engine only runs to make electricity, and it shuts off completely once the battery has enough charge. In city and suburban driving it runs less often, because speeds are lower and the motors draw less power. You'll notice the quiet most in stop-and-go traffic on I-40 through downtown or on Alcoa Highway. On the open highway or under heavy load, the engine runs more often to keep the battery charged.
How Does e-Pedal Work on the 2027 Rogue Hybrid?
e-Pedal lets you drive mostly with one pedal. Lift off the accelerator and the motors slow the car with regenerative braking, which also sends energy back into the battery. They'll bring you all the way to a stop if you want. Smooth Stop eases the brake pressure at the end so the stop doesn't jolt you forward, and once you're stopped, the brakes hold the car in place automatically.
Does the 2027 Rogue Hybrid Need to Be Plugged In?
No. There's no charging port. The battery charges from the generator and from braking. You fill up at a gas station like you always have, with regular unleaded in a 14-gallon tank.
Fuel economy Nissan estimates up to 40 mpg city, 36 highway, and 38 combined for the SR, based on its own testing. Estimates for the SV and Platinum haven't been released, and none of the figures are EPA-certified yet. We'll update this post when they are.
When Can You Buy the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid in Knoxville?
The first Rogue Hybrids reach dealers in fall 2026 as SR models with the SR Technology Package, at $41,490 MSRP. The SV, SR, and Platinum follow in early 2027, starting at $35,490 MSRP for the SV.
The SV includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate. The SR has a sportier look, with 19-inch wheels and gloss black trim. Adding the SR Technology Package brings Hands-off Traffic Jam Support, the larger 14.3-inch screens with Google built-in, a 3D camera system that helps with parking, and a heated steering wheel. The Platinum includes those Technology Package features, and it's the only grade with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, and Bose audio.
Every grade comes with dual-motor AWD, e-Pedal, ProPILOT Assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot intervention. ProPILOT Assist keeps a set distance from the car ahead and helps keep you centered in your lane, and this version spots slowing traffic sooner than the one in the 2026 Rogue. All three grades also get Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which watches for approaching cars when you're backing out of a spot, and Lead Car Departure Notification, which lets you know when the car ahead starts moving at a light.
